My goal:
Keep the studio in apple pie order. Everything should be it its place … it should be visually stimulating … a wonderful hideaway that feeds the mind and fosters creativity.
The Reality:
Since three weeks before I left for Australia, the place has looked like a tornado blew in three dump trucks worth of wool and other hooking related stuff, depositing it on every possible square inch of space so that even with a GPS system a normal person could not make it from one end to the other. Cambria Pines Rug Camp only made it worse … and I am not even commenting on the effects of Sauder Village! My only saving grace has been the fact that I can control all the camera angles and cropping of photos that appear on the blog.

While this may not look like too much of a big deal to you, it is a rather shocking “after” photo. You see, I haven’t seen the floor in weeks and had forgotten what color it was.

Who knew I had this much raw wool?

I even went through all my hand dyed wool (this is just a sample) so that it could get sorted and arranged for easy access. Everything is so organized now that I don’t want anyone to touch it … until after my company leaves.

As I said: Everything is in apple pie order and sings with the clear voice of inspiration …

… as long as I can control the camera angles and crop all photos.
Since Teresa and Lloyd won’t get here until later in the week, there is no sense getting overly carried away until closer to time! (I am still stunned by the fact that the floor is painted tan!)
Are you going to the Sauder Village Rug Hooking Retreat and Exhibition? If so, please know that you are invited to a little cake and ice cream get together on Friday night, August 20, in the Atrium. Phyllis Lindblade (Yahoo Groups: The Yahookers) and I (IRgC) decided that it would be fun to provide an opportunity for members of our groups (and anyone else that wants to show up) to “hook up” and visit for a bit. We hope you will stop by and say hello if you are at Sauder. More details to follow.
