Sometimes on Monday night, particularly after a hard weekend, which this past weekend was, I am not all that motivated to do very much in the studio. That was certainly the case last night. About all I was up to do was a little bit of dyeing (4 yards), finish up a few final Cambria fliers so they can be popped in the mail this morning and then wash up after myself. Although I do prefer dyeing marathons where 20+ yards are dyed in one session, some weeks it’s just easier to dye a little every day or two. Four yards of wool will fit on my 2 drying racks, so I often do that much before going to work or after coming home. (By the way, these little folding racks from Target were one of the best investments I ever made. Cheap, handy and easy to store.) I knocked off early and spent the rest of the evening watching some TV with my wife, very satisfied with my easy night of work. It was just before bed time, however, when it dawned on me that I forgot to write a blog post for today. So, to continue with my theme for the day, as it is bed time, this post is going to be easy.

Good morning………..I have to keep remembering that you have that big stove and big pans……..4 yards would be a marathon day for me……I did however do my dry dyeing for Fowl Mood….I let the colors mingle a little too long and I had too much red in the bottom of the pan……otherwise it turned out pretty good…I have my pattern drawn on my backing……..I am actually going to use my KFC 11 herbs and spices for the red…….I thought that would be appropriate………V. Arline – KFC and chicken, obviously, go together. Yes, I have a 6 burner stove, so 4 pots going at once, each with a yard in it, takes very little time. GRS

I’m glad to hear that you had some down time. I wonder how you do all that you do and don’t get fried! I appreciate your blog and look forward to it every day. I guess that dyeing is more stressful for me as our home is our office for our business and there can be a lot of interruptions.

awshuckshooking – That is a Swedish spinning wheel that someone gave me about 3 months ago. I just came home and it was in my garage. I had wanted a spinning wheel for years – just as an antique accent. About 2 years ago I found a nice small Appalachian wheel at a garage sale for $20, then this one just appeared. Nice gift! GRS
