In looking for an appropriate first rug to show in 2013, Joy Marshall’s Peggy’s Cove Lighthouse seemed like a good one to guide the way for all fiber artists.
Dear Gene – Thought you might like to see how my Peggy’s Cove Lighthouse rug was shaping up. I finished stage one on Boxing Day while watching ‘Miracle on 34th Street’. Now I’ve just got to straighten up the windows, fill in a few holidays and whip the edge. I can hardly wait to work on the Bideford Parsonage Rug I started with your help at the Strathalbyn workshop.
Hope you are getting some rest in amongst all the busy.
Dear Joy – Thanks for giving us a beacon of rug hooking hope to start our new year, all the way from Australia. As I think about it, American TV news reports on the New Year almost always seem to start with reports from Australia – fireworks being shot off the Sydney Bridge, etc. Thanks for lighting the way for all of us. As usual, you have made a striking rug and I look forward to seeing it finished. GRS
From her letter, it sounds like Joy has used the downtime of the holidays in the same way I have – to get a little hooking done. Here is the update on my
Winter Bird Tea Cozy.
It is always a Happy New Year when you can start out with one project done and crossed of the “to do” list.
Marsha and I wish you a very Happy New Year.
