Today’s post is about two Holiday Giveaways for blog readers and a report on the Prodded Runner fundraiser for Rug Aid, which just happened to be won by one of our blog readers.
The first Giveway is this 14″, octagonal, sit upon gripper strip rug hooking frame.
One of our blog reader Elfs has donated this like new frame with the hopes that it will find a good home. If you can provide that home, or know someone who can, a sign up page called Frame Giveaway has been created at the top of the blog’s home page. Registered users who want to be considered just need to comment with their name and address, or enough info so I can contact you. On Sunday night, December 20, at 10PM, I will make a drawing from those names and announce on Monday’s blog, December 21, who the lucky winner is. (Winner will need to pay shipping.) While it may not get to it’s destination by Christmas, it should arrive relatively soon thereafter.
The Second Giveaway, from me, is a free, 12 month subscription to the Internet Rug Camp, which will go on line in early January. It also has its own page at the top of the site – if you want your name to go into that pot for the drawing, just go to the page and make a comment by adding your name and address before 10PM, December 20. I’ll also announce the results of this drawing on Monday, December 21.
Now, the fundraiser results -
As announced on this blog, Chris Friedman, of the Wine Country Rug Hookers, donated her Prodded Fall Runner as a raffle item to raise money for Rug Aid, Heather Ritchie’s program to teach the blind of Gambia how to hook rugs as a means of supporting themselves. While this raffle was kicked off at a November, International Rug Rave event hosted by Laura Pierce at the home of her Mother, Emma Webber, the actual drawing did not take place until December 12. During the intervening time, lots of people got into the action, including many readers from this blog. When everything was in, $420 had been raised for Rug Aid.
The day of the drawing, Gita Phy held the container of names as Jean Mackenzie pulled the winner – all supervised by Chris. The lucky winner: Bonnie Curtis of Chesterfield, VA, who heard about the raffle on this blog! Although I thought I had bought the winning raffle ticket, I am happy for Bonnie and appreciate everyone who supported this effort.
Wish I could have been there!
